Kelly J. (Joe) Betar, III is President and Chief Operating Officer of Texas Trophy Hunters Association (TTHA). Betar is responsible for organizational management of TTHA’s operating units: membership, publishing, television production, advertising, trade shows, licensing, merchandising and video production services.

Betar attended the University of Louisiana-Monroe where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing after which he practiced nursing in the acute care setting, with a focus on cardiology. Betar has over 15 years of experience in operations management, sales, marketing, strategic planning, sales planning, professional affairs, education and clinical practice. He has industry expertise in publishing, television, membership-based organizational development, tradeshow promotion, healthcare (products and services), management of strategic relationships, development of integrated marketing strategies to support established business goals and developing collaborative working relationships with internal and external customer groups.

Prior to joining TTHA, Betar was employed for 10 years by Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (a global medical technology company with leadership positions in advanced wound care, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) and Therapeutic Support Systems), in various roles, most recently as Director of Professional Affairs and Education.

Texas Trophy Hunters Association, known as The Voice of Texas Hunting™, is a membership-based organization that has promoted the sport, science and heritage of hunting for over 34 years. TTHA strives to unite all segments of the hunting community for the dissemination of information and joining of energies to promote and protect our hunting heritage. Founded in 1975, TTHA publishes a bimonthly magazine, The Journal of the Texas Trophy Hunters, and produces the award-winning outdoor television program, The Journal of the American Trophy Hunters. In addition, TTHA hosts the Hunters Extravaganza® outdoor expositions, renowned as the largest whitetail hunting shows in the South.

Betar is married to Charlotte Callahan Betar. They have three sons-Joshua, Zachary and Christopher and reside in San Antonio, Texas. Betar enjoys anything involving the outdoors, weightlifting, reading and movies.
